Short Course Training
Who: Everyone
What: Practical and motivating short programs to spark curiosity and build your socio-technical toolkit.
Programs range from half day to one week and can be delivered online or in-person. Delivered by expert facilitators, participants will leave feeling engaged, connected to values, and energised by their values-aligned peer group. Participants in each program are supported to connect the skills and mindsets developed back into their current work and organisation.

EWB Challenge Series
Who: First year university students to PhD candidates.
What: The EWB Challenge Series is EWB Australia’s suite of project-based learning opportunities, ready to be integrated into curriculum at any university year level.
Each year, EWB works alongside our community partners to develop comprehensive real-world project briefs and the supporting learning content which enables students to dive deeply into a context from their classroom. Our academic partners utilise this material to bring to life the vital socio-technical skills and mindsets required to develop viable designs or research-based solutions in complex, real-world situations. EWB and our partners provide real-time stakeholder engagement opportunities across each semester, alongside end-of-year celebratory project showcases.

Impactful Futures Immersive
Who: Early professionals to experienced engineers.
What: Transformative and immersive professional study tours designed to expand your understanding of emerging global challenges, build skills and define the role you play as a conscious corporate citizen.
Participants will take part in a series of workshops and cultural immersions on a powerful learning journey over seven days. The program brings together a diverse group of professionals, academics and emerging leaders who form a multi-disciplinary cohort, alongside local community members and stakeholders.

The program brings together a diverse group of professionals, academics and emerging leaders who form a multi-disciplinary cohort, alongside local community members and stakeholders.

Study Tour Academic & Industry Fellows
Who: All current university lecturers, researchers, or staff with an interest in building their own socio-technical engineering competencies and/or improving their teaching practice are invited to apply. We welcome academics from disciplines outside of engineering.
What: Once-in-a-lifetime professional development that will transform your teaching and research practice.
As a Humanitarian Design Summit Academic Fellow, you will build direct experience of socio-technical engineering practice through working alongside experienced EWB facilitators, engaging with local community partners, and facilitating the student design process. You’ll also be invited to play key roles in supporting student learning throughout the program - drawing on your own skills and experience working in tertiary education while challenging yourself to facilitate effective learning outcomes for student participants in a new context.
