"Their call to action was notice for all engineers in the industry."
Winning the ProjectMax Young Authors of the Year award and the Hynds Presentation of the Year, both Katrina Bukauskas (centre left) and Andrew Koolhof (centre right) presented on Small-scale Wastewater Treatment Solutions, based on the pioneering work of the Sanitation in Challenging Environments project developing innovative sanitation systems suitable for millions of people living in flood prone and high groundwater areas.
Both Katrina and Andrew worked in Cambodia as International Field Professionals with Engineers Without Borders Australia and their presentation outlined some key aspects of the provision of wastewater treatment in challenging environments. They were commended for their description of some of the problems and potential solutions in these areas, through a presentation that had clear delivery with great visuals. Well done to everyone involved!
