Over the last fortnight, EWB Australia&#;s university chapters have been welcoming new university students to their campuses and sharing information and opportunities to engage with EWB Australia!
O&#;Week is an important time for EWB Australia&#;s university chapters and EWB Australia as an organisation as it is an opportunity to plant the seed for positive change in the engineering profession by sharing the ways in which individuals can join the humanitarian movement and engage with EWB Australia&#;s programs through their chapter and our National programs. Chapters organised and held a range of activities and events such as BBQ&#;s, information sessions, App Tech workshops, careers nights, information stalls, School Outreach workshops and more!!
EWB Monash University Chapter&#;s Vice President, Rachel, share her reflections on O&#;Week …
Engineers Without Borders Monash was lucky to meet and engage with almost every single Engineering first year during O-Week . In partnership with the Monash University Faculty of Engineering, we ran six &#;INteract: EWB Monash Instagram Challenge&#; workshops, where firsts years were tasked with teaming up in groups and making a -second video answering the question &#;How Can Engineering Change the World?&#;.
We had an amazingly positive response, with many first years focusing on how Engineering can address social challenges as well as technological ones. We finished O-Week a little sunburnt from the sunny Melbourne weather, but excited at our amazing turnout of almost volunteer sign-ups! We are super excited for the semester ahead, and will hopefully be building on this initial interest in our chapter. See some of the fantastic clips!
EWB Australia thanks our university chapters for their leadership and support and we look forward to an exciting year ahead!
